Context and limits
Tulsa Community Band was organized in 1967 under Tulsa parks sponsorship. Contemporary records show Oil Capital Concert Band continuing separately after that date. Former American Legion and Shrine musicians also played in Tulsa Community Band. Our working interpretation recognizes shared musicians and tradition; a formal chain of renames or mergers is unproved. Oil Capital’s final operating date remains unresolved.
